5 x 3.5", flexible vellum with ink title on spine, 216pp, printed in blackletter, covers a bit rubbed and darkened, missing ties, ink writing on front blank and at the top of the title page, pp unevenly toned/darkened else a nice copy. Originally published in 1531, the book is about the education of the governing class of England; it also was famous for using the English language to its full extent. This copy was owned by the famous British scientist Richard Towneley with his bookplate on the verso of the title page; Towneley's work assisted Robert Boyle in creating Boyle's Law, he measured eclipses of the moons of Jupiter, rainfall measurements, etc. Printed in Black-Letter.
