7 x 5.5", pict wraps (image of the school), unpaginated (4pp). Soiled, creased, edge tears, ink expenditure list on the back. Comes with: 8 report cards, 1938 and 1939, 6 x 3.5", printed on one side, light wear and staining and "Character Formation" card, nd, oblong 3 x 5", toned and two letters to the student's mother, one 1945, on lined paper 10 x 8" and one 1943 on letterhead 7 x 6", both creased with soiling and edge tears. The student is Valerie Swanson, grade 3 who received good grades, letters to her mother are basic, in one she practices her French. St. Mary's Academy was built between 1927 and 1929, replacing the first St. Mary's which was torn down to make way for the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. The second St. Mary's closed in 1971 and was imploded several years later. A total of 12 items, sold as a lot. SCARCE memorabilia.
