One of the 1937 graduates was Jerome Horowitz who spearheaded the research that resulted in the development of AZT, the antiviral drug used to treat HIV. Later graduates included poet Philip Livine, U.S. Senator Carl Levin and his brother Sander, a U.S. representative from Michigan. SCARCE.
