4.25 x 3", metal front cover, rear cover stiff black wraps, 520pp. Front cover heavily rusted, spine and rear cover worn, yellow printed paper removed almost entirely from inside front cover, front inner hinge cracked/split, title page not attached to text block, page edges waterstained/rubbed else contents good. Ink lines around passages in St. John and Corinthians. The Heart-Shield Bible was used in WWII and fitted securely in the soldier's chest pocket. The metal cover was meant to protect the soldier's heart from bullets, which it did on many occasions. The cover has no bullet marks. There were several different publishers for the Heart-Shield Bible. Sold as is.
