BAY HARBOR CONCOURS d'ELEGANCE 2002 BEST OF CLASS PRE-WAR OPEN, 1935-1942 AWARD

Bronze head of Roman goddess of war 6"h on an oblong grey marble base 10 x 5"h x .75" with brass engraved plaque oblong 3.75 x 1.5", in the corner a small enameled .25" with the winner's name, green felt on the bottom. Light wear, scratches, small area of the green felt has worn off else very good condition. Minerva, designed by Pierre de Soete, was the logo of Minerva Motors, a luxury automobile firm. The winner of this award was Don Sommer of American Arrow and the founder of the Meadowbrook Concours d'Elegance in Michigan, he died recently at age 86 in July 2019.
