Light scuffing/scratches, wear along spines, corners bumped and worn, bookplates. Contents: Volume 3: scattered light foxing, lacks tissue guards causing offsetting, lacks ribbon. Volume 4: scattered light foxing, lacks 4 plates, rear inner hinge starting. Both volumes are tight and very good condition. Bookplates of Boston lawyer and socialite Harleston Deacon, his wife attended Mark Twain's "DOE Luncheons." Some of the stories: "Le Berceau", "L'Ermite", "La Courtisane Amoureuse", "Le Diable En Enfer", "Le Rossignol". Contained in Volume 4 is a "Vocabulaire Des Vieux Mots". Originally a 4 volume set, we only have the last two volumes. Beautifully bound. Sold as is.
