10 x 8", printed on one side. Fold creases, tiny tears else very good condition. Flier advertising their services. Comes with other Bancroft forms: "Commutation Money", 8.5 x 5.5", printed on one side, "Question Blank For Heirs Of Deceased Soldiers", 14 x 18.5", printed on both sides, these two forms also have fold creases and tears. Also, a postmarked envelope from Bancroft to H.G. Post (Post joined the Union March 3, 1863), Fleming, N.Y. (poor, in two pieces) and a return envelope printed with the company name (creased, good), both small. The commutation form is for pensioners who have lost a limb or a hand and foot from disease. The question blank is very detailed ie. place and cause of death, did soldier contract any wound, etc. and a section for the parents to fill out (if deceased soldier had no wife or children) and has a pertinent question, "Was the solider in a Rebel Prison?" The reverse is to be filled out if the soldier survived ie. time of discharge, how and when he became disabled etc. The forms are not filled in. "We charge no fee unless successful." Sound familiar? A total of five pieces, sold as a lot.
