Frontis portrait, 6.25 x 4", cloth, 265pp, cover heavily worn, extremities bumped and fraying, outer hinges starting, spine bad with remnants of old glue repairs, front inner hinge cracked, EX-LIBRARY with inkstamps on front fly and title page, contents spotted and stained and used, but still a survivor. SWAF. Hewes was quite the patriot, surviving the Boston Massacre, playing a big part in the Boston Tea Party, was twice a privateer, and twice a member of the militia during the Revolutionary War. Hewes died on July 4, 1840 at the age of 98 (or so), on his way to the yearly festivities. SCARCE.
