np (London?), nd (c. 1330). Hardcover. Very Good. Item #21-0609
5.5 x 3.25", later limp vellum, 98 vellum leaves plus two blanks plus later front endpaper, pages numbered at bottom at a later date starting at "1" (though there is some concern that the first leaf is missing), some fading to ink but largely legible, some rubbing, first (blank) leaf holed and chewed, next (index) leaf with two small holes (one affecting text), some ink scribbles in margins of several pages, blue ink smudges over text on pp62-63, insect holes with staining across text on pp139-142, other insect holes through lower fore-corner in margins of pp189-end, finger soiling and some old water staining through margins, but still a great copy with red and blue initials (most one-line, but some 3-5 lines, some quite elaborate.) Manuscript created about 100 years after the Magna Carta, begins with the fourth chapter, following with the Charter of the Forest, and then "old statutes", Due Process included; probably used as a lawyer's pocket ready reference. 98 double-sided manuscript leaves! Text in Latin.
