Detroit News press photo oblong 8 x 10", light soiling, creasing and chipping else good. Shows a group of men crowding around the television station's broadcast equipment, attached to a curtain "First In Detroit WWDT The Detroit News." WWDT first signed on the air on October 23, 1946 for a one day demonstration. On July 22, 1978 the station became WDIV. Detroit's WWDT/WDIV, Channel 4, is still going strong today.
