James Lanman, a Monroe, Michigan native was a newspaper editor, studied at the Hudson River School in New York, a librarian for various government agencies and so much more, the list of his jobs seems endless. He mentions his hometown "My father's farm was situated just above Monroe, about two miles from the mouth of that beautiful stream, the river Raisin". The book covers his summer travels in Michigan, Second Edition. Sold as is.
