Three original black and white photographs of the Detroit Saturday Night building, 1959 E. Jefferson and designed by Wirt Rowland

Two of the photographs are stamped on the back "Grossman Knowling Lehr, Inc. 400 Marquette Bldg. Cherry 5600 Detroit, Mich." All 8 x 10". Light wear/curling/creasing, pinholes with pencil numbers/dimensions on the back on one of the Grossman photos else good to very good condition. The two Grossman photos show the front and the front/west side, the other is a close-up of the front door and its lovely architectural details. The newspaper "Detroit Saturday Night" started out first at 550 W. Fort, a building designed for them by Smith, Hinchman & Grylls in 1914. Eventually the newspaper outgrew that location and Smith Hinchman Gryll's lead designer, Wirt Rowland created a lovely Art Deco building at 1959 E. Jefferson, which opened in 1929. Three original photos, sold as a lot. SCARCE.
