Illus., 10 x 7", printed green wraps, 129-256pp + ads. Covers fair (stained, edge tears etc.), text block not attached to covers, contents have creased corners, pencil notes on first and last pages and occasional marks in margins, foxed throughout, page removed prior to O'Neill play, loose signature. Other contributors: Sherwood Anderson, James M. Cain, Carl Van Doren, H.L. Mencken, George Jean Nathan. Nathan and Mencken were the editors. The second issue of "The American Mercury" and the first publication of O'Neill's play.

Framed and matted realist portrait of Eugene O'Neill.
Print by "Marcus" and done in a stippling technique, frame with glass is 14 x 14, black painted wood, cream colored mat. The frame has scratches, splitting on side edge where picture hanging nail went through, mat is toned, paper backing is brittle, torn and tape repaired with chipped label "Hudson's Pictures and Picture Framing Detroit," b&w portrait, stippling technique on off-white background. O'Neill is staring out solemnly, looks to be in his 50s. A very nice item, not examined out of frame.
