Illus. by John Leech including four color plates, 8 x 5.25", gilt-lettered and gilt-dec embossed red cloth; aeg, 166pp + ads, covers worn and darkened, extremities chipped but colored-in, hinges loose, inner hinges cracked (front inner hinge repaired), old removal mark just inside front cover, pp with some finger wear and soil. Not a first edition (just a red border around title page, no printing listed), but probably from the 1870s since it does have an ad in the back for the (incomplete at that time) "Illustrated Library Edition" of Dickens' works; at least is after 1852 when the publisher moved to 193 Piccadilly.
