9 x 6, blindstamped cloth, xliv, 276 pp. Disbound, lacking rear cover and almost all of spine cover, part of front cover sewn to text block, cover is fair/poor, pencil names, pencil scribble on front blank paper and title page, soiling, spotting, staining, dampstaining, a few of the front upper corners have been chewed, a few side margins near the rear have also been chewed and from page 259 on the lower corners/margins have been chewed, affects the text a little in the appendix, pages 267-276, last two pages also were chewed at the inner margins affecting the text, the free rear endpaper is detached and missing pieces. The letters date from 1831-1835 and some are written to Richard Rush and Edward Livingstone. Scarce. Sold as is.

REPORT UPON WEIGHTS AND MEASURES.
Three folding tables, 8.5 x 5.5, half leather, marbled boards, 244 pp, covers very worn, top half of spine gone, outer hinges cracked and held together with cello tape, extremities bumped and fraying, inner hinges cracked, first gathering loose and lightly stained, contents toned and foxed with some finger soil, folding tables intact (though one is very toned). Adams was Secretary of State at the time.
