"Minute Book" for the Willowbrook Water Company.

Willowbrook 1919-1932 10 x 7, cloth ledger w/leather corners and spine labels, 248 pp. Covers worn, spotted, soiled, ink name of the Willowbrook Water Co., leather on corners very well worn, spine labels chipped, peeling, missing small pieces, water company rules and newsp clippings pasted to inside front cover, soiling, spotting, offsetting, removal marks, chipping, majority of the pages are filled with some loose material, entries are handwritten, typewritten annual financial reports and special meetings. Lists stockholder meeting and who attended; bills paid; supplies purchased and office expenses; raises (i.e, the pumpers); monthly meetings; installation of new taps and meters etc. Loose is a certificate for four shares of the water company, filled in and dated March 17, 1931, with blindstamp of the water company. Share is issued to Fred R. Morrow, the president of the company. The city of Willowbrook acquired its name in 1903 when the "Willowbrook Tract" was recorded although the subdiivisions were filled in the late 1890s. The Willowbrook Water Company was organized on Feb. 13, 1912. In an entry from June 17, 1927, a meeting was called to discuss the sale of the water company to the Los Angeles Water Service Co. The sale eventually went through and the Willowbrook Water Co. was no more.
