Looking For Lisette: in quest of an American original

Mage Press/ Thomson-Shore: Dexter, MI 2001 Photos, 9 x 6", glossy pict wraps, 456pp with Bibliography, covers a little edge-worn, minor light soiling to foredge of text block else a nice copy of the FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED ("For Joyce & Dimitri, my good friends- thank you!") AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, "8/5/01". Also with ink note from author on Contents page alerting the reader to corrections on pp 208 and 402, with ink notes on both pages. Lisette was a former slave who was the first African-American land holder in Pontiac, Michigan, and through her donation, St. James Episcopal Church on Grosse Ile was built.
