Louisville, Kentucky Monday Morning, [Locofoco] 25 x 17.5", unpaginated, (4pp). Light creasing and soiling, scattered spotting, folded in half, edge tears, chipping else very good condition. Ads: "Negroes wanted. Notice to all persons having Negro property for sale can find a purchaser, at highest cash prices, by calling at the jail, in Louisville, or on the subscriber, at Galt House" and illustrated with the images of a male and female slave, "Wanted, A stout healthy, NEGRO BOY, about 14 years old to do housework. One from the country would be preferred" and illustrated with the same male image as the previous ad. Some of the articles: "New York Justice" in which the editior of the "Sun" was convicted of libeling a lady in language that "would put to the blush many an occupant of a brothel", Locofoco Party, (a radical wing of the Democratic Party). Other ads: "For Sale. That handsome and healthy seat called Cornland, of three hundred acres of rich land fronting on the Ohio River..." Good Intent Stage Company, artificial legs, wig maker, Magnesia Fire Proof Safes, last four ads with illustrations.
