The State of Michigan, Detroit; Group of 4 unissued bank notes: One Dollar, Two Dollars, Three Dollars and Five Dollars

Detroit (1859?) American Bank Note Company. 7.25 x 3", vermillion and black. Light wrinkling in lower corner of two notes else mint. Vignettes: $1-State arms and two children, $2- Buffalo hunt, $3- Farmer with cornstalks and portrait of a woman and $5- Steamboat and anchor. The State Bank of Michigan was organized in December 1859 and it was the only bank started in Detroit between 1849 and the arrival of the National Banking Act in 1863. Would look stunning framed. Sold as a lot.
