Original studio portrait by Vallejo, California photographer E.K. Halverson of a young man in a football uniform, the letter "A" on his sweater

Vallejo (c. 1900-1915) 4 x 3", black and white, mounted on thick card stock, image is surrounded by a light green band. Soiling and light spotting to mount, tiny bit of soiling to image else very good condition. Written on the back "Uncle Lew". The letter "A" could possibly represent Alameda High School, no nearby colleges had "A" as the first letter in their names. Mount has "Halverson" and "Vallego, Cal." in lower part of green band. E.K. Halverson, originally from Minnesota, came to Vallejo in the 1890s(?). According to a notice in the October 1916 edition of "Camera Craft" E.K. Halverson was located at 413 Georgia Street. He was selling his business at a bargain price due to failing eyesight. He emphasizes the business opportunities to be had from the Navy at Mare Island.
