Detroit 1901 7.5 x 4", blade is 4" wide. Rubbing, needs a good cleaning else good to very good. Carrie Nation started destroying saloons with a hatchet in 1900. By 1901 with many destroyed saloons accredited to her and her followers she decided to wage the war against liquor in her newspaper "The Smasher's Rail" but would no longer destroy saloons. Detroit was a major stove manufacturer during this time period, some of the companies: Michigan Stove Company, Detroit Stove Works (who acquired the Art Stove Co. in 1923), Detroit Vapor Stove. A good solid Detroit and Carrie Nation souvenir.
