New Directions: Norfolk, CT (1940) 8.5 x 5.5", red cloth, 186pp, covers rubbed, extremities bumped and fraying, hinges loose, pp toned with scattered finger soiling, in a rubbed, edge-worn and edge-chipped, spine darkened dustjacket with brown stain on front panel. FIRST AMERICAN EDITION, INSCRIBED "With best wishes to...Lilian [sic] and Harry Dick Ross from...and with love of their house, ills, and sea, April 1950" AND SIGNED BY DYLAN THOMAS. Lillian (aka: Lillian Bos Ross and Shanagolden) and Harry Dick Ross were fixtures in the Big Sur arts community; Lillian wrote a trilogy of novels about a family in Big Sur. Neat item from Dylan Thomas' 1950 tour of the U.S.!
