Musical Poems: Dedicated to Little Children, for School, Kindergarten and Home [with ALS from Mark Twain]

The Faunt Leroy Music Co.: Chicago 1896 Photo on title page, photos of Field and Senour with their facsimile dedications, 13 x 10.25", gilt-lettered light blue cloth, 60pp, covers a bit rubbed and soiled, extremities bumped and fraying, hinges loose, contents a little toned at edges but still good. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY CARO SMITH SENOUR "the Composer", March 19, 1931. TIPPED IN AT FRONT IS A TWO-PAGE AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (IN PENCIL) FROM S.L. CLEMENS (MARK TWAIN), 1898; black-bordered stationary, Clemens writes from the Hotel Krantz in Vienna, thanking recipient for what she has said, saying the he "...knew Eugene Field a little...he gave me a pleasant hour..." Mrs. Senour has written an ink note at foot of letter stating that she has answered the letter and sent a copy of this book. Also included is a signed testimony from Mrs. Senour concerning the connection between the letter and the book.
