Piece of a rock from the bank of Kentucky's Knob Creek, the same creek where a young Abraham Lincoln almost drowned during a fishing trip with his friend Auston Gallier in 1816

Knob Creek: Kentucky 1816 Unevenly shaped rock, approximately 3 x 3 x 1.5", mounted on Lucite 3 x 4 x .25 with a label identifying the rock, that piece is mounted onto another Lucite block 4.5 x 6 x 1" with the name "Lincoln" on one side, unrelated sticker on the bottom. Rock is tan and grey. Lucite has light scratches and spotting else very good condition. Not indicated but the rock was taken from the creek by well-known Lincoln collector Reverend Oliver B. Ransopher. Attractive piece.
