Two items from Detroit's Hotel Webster Hall: a soup spoon stamped "Hotel Webster Hall" with a crest and a color postcard [Mackenzie Hall]

Detroit nd Spoon 5", 1925-1946, Reichle Sons Co. V, scratches, light wear else good. Postcard 3.5 x 5.5", late 1930s- early 1940s, postally unused, light wear else good to very good. From the printed info on the postcard: "Detroit's finest club residence for men and women...swimming pool, sun roof, ping pong and hand ball ball courts." Built in 1925, Hotel Webster didn't last very long as a hotel, financial problems eventually led to its sale in 1946 to Wayne State University. It was renamed Mackenzie Hall, and served various purposes for the university until it outlived its usefulness and was torn down in 1991. Sold as a pair only.
