Three items from Detroit's Whittier Hotel: Teapot with the Whittier crest, Candy Dish and Pickle Fork.

Detroit (1930s-1940s?) Teapot: R. Wallace 0381 silver soldered 10 8-oz B, stamped 10 inside the lid and stamped "Whittier" on the bottom, 6 x 6". Candy Dish: Reed & Barton silver soldered 3-3 5 1-S, stamped "Whittier" on bottom, 5.25 x 4". Fork: R.W. & S extra, stamped "Whittier" on the back with initial "W" on the front. Teapot has scratches, small dents, rubbing else good to very good condition. The Whittier was built in 1926 and was an apartment hotel where the renters could receive services that hotel guests normally receive like dry cleaning and maid service. Many famous people have stayed here including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, in currently awaits renovation. Sold as a group.
