Jacob H. Studer Co: New York City and Columbus, Ohio 1881 119 lithographs, 15 x 12", half leather (brown), pebbled black cloth, gilt lettering on cover and spine, five gilt lined raised bands, three panels with gilt floral dec, one panel with gilt bird, one panel with gilt title and one panel with illustrator's name in gilt, decorative gilt trim along lea. cover edges, all edges gilt, index, 182pp. Leather scuffed/scraped with a few scratches, corners and spine ends worn and rubbed, some rubbing to raised bands, front outer hinge and inner hinges starting, contents have light edge toning, offsetting to the back of plates I & V and to page opposite of plate V, offsetting to plate XXVI and its tissue guard, occasional light spotting and smudging to margins, some of the tissue guards are creased, chipped, toned, a couple are missing small pieces, couple are torn but overall less than a dozen. A beautiful book with 119 lithographs each with a tissue guard.
