Two duplicate bronze plaques showing a seated prisoner of war writing a letter, text on reverse "Le Vetement Du Prisonnier De Guerre Fonde En Decembre 1914 A Cuex Qui L'Ont Cree A Ceux Qui L'Ont Aide"

M. Blondat: France (1918) 70mm x 42mm, both stamped bronze but one is coated with a silver-colored metal. Light wear/scratches else very good. French medallist Max Blondat created this plaque based on a work by the impressionist painter Jean Louis Forain. It was created in order to commemorate and to raise funds for the charity "Clothes for Prisoners of War Agency." Sold a a pair.
