Nine Detroit items: trade tokens for "G.G. Mowry. Detroit. Mich. 63.65 & 67 Jefferson Ave" and "T.D. Becker Cigar Store 100 Griswold. Good for 25 cents in Trade" and five envelopes for chewing and smoking tobacco from the Scotten, Dillon Company.

Detroit nd (1860s? To 1 Trade tokens are c. 1860s. Mowry is 2.5x2mm, silver colored metal (German silver?), shield shaped with an eagle, company name, city and state on banners across the front, back has the address with four stars and date, top token missing a loop (?), rubbing, date is very rubbed and not totally legible else very good, attractive. T.D. Becker is 2mm, brass, rubbed, needs a cleaning. Foil pack (1940s?), 7 x 4.75, red and blue design on cream background, unused, like new and others. An Isaac Mowry had a tobacconist shop in the late 1860s to early 1870s adjacent to the address on the token, no listing for "G.G." T.D. Becker is not listed but there were Beckers Bros. cigar manufacturers on both Monroe and Randolph, mid 1860s-1870s. Daniel Scotten started up his company in the early 1850s; in the late 1880s the official name became Scotten-Dillon and were one of the largest employers in Detroit. Sold as a lot. Total of 8 pieces plus one other tobacco label.
