FIRST TWO-VOLUME BOOK ED, FIRST STATE with all the points from the Heritage Bookshop Smith bibliography, with printed note "The Reader will understand. . . " tipped in; with tipped-in CDV of Charles Dickens (J. Gurney & Son, NY) and an ENVELOPE FRONT PANEL ADDRESSED (to his publishers, Chapman and Hall) AND SIGNED BY CHARLES DICKENS attached to front blank; also tipped-in to next page is a SHORT AUTOGRAPH NOTE SIGNED BY THE ARTIST "Uncle" MARCUS STONE, on his Melbury Road letterhead, dated Oct. 23, 1886. ALSO included at end are 10 or 11 ORIGINAL BLUE PAPER WRAPPERS FOR THE PARTS VERSION, INCLUDING ADS! Also, attached to front fly is a typed note from Marshall Field & Co describing the contents of the book.
