Photo album labelled "U.S. Zone- Germany Heidelberg Berlin Marburg Karlsruhe Mannheim Weinheim Giessen"

Germany (1945-1950?) 189 B&W photos, 3 x 4.5", oblong 8 x 12", green cloth with tan cords, front cover has an attractive colorful decorative thin wood (?) panel with lettering and coats of arms, unpaginated (48 pages). Covers and pages have bumped corners, one corner of the wood panel is lacking the tip, one photo missing else very good. None of the photos/pages are labelled. After the Allied powers defeated Germany the country was divided into four occupational zones: American, British, French, and Soviet which lasted from 1945-1949. This album appears to have belonged to a W.A.C. (a major?) who is seen in both her uniform and civilian clothes. Casual photos: Ski slopes, riding in a funicular, mountains, train travel, friends in a bar, churches, Steffani Restaurant, pastoral landscape, U.S.A.F. plane on a runway, military parade outside Buckingham Palace, Victoria Memorial, London Bridge, various London sights, canals/on a canal boat (Amsterdam?). Last photo shows her posing next to a car with a "U.S. of America" license plate with a 1950 date. Mementos from the Allied Occupation that aren't tourist items are SCARCE. The colorful front cover panel is FANTASTIC.
