FIRST EDITION (SD), WITH ORIGINAL POEM IN PENCIL "Julia, little singing girl / You must come someday / To England + hear a thrush / Singing on a spray / We must go to England / Julia, you + I / And listen while an English lark / Climbs an English sky" AND SIGNED "Uncle Richard", dated Auf 14, 1901. Unfortunately, an old newspaper clipped image of Le Gallienne has been pasted onto the opposite page and thrown a shadow onto the poem. WITH THE BOOKPLATE OF JULIA COOLEY, who would later write books on her own under her married name of Julia Cooley Altrocchi. Great association piece.
