Two Black & White Original Group Photographs from 1924 of the University of Michigan chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma.

np(Ann Arbor) 1924 Both 8 x 10, no photog listed. Creasing to edges and corners, both lacking a corner, each is affixed to a sticky modern album page else very good. Both photos have been identified by the unknown photog as Phi Kappa Sigma. One shows the members standing on the front steps of their(?) house, all formally dressed with bow ties; the previous owner has written on the album page "Our white college fraternity 1924" and he has drawn an arrow pointing to himself. On the other, the photog has added below the fraternity's name "Fathers Day" and shows the same group of young men on the stair but posing with their fathers; this time the previous owner has drawn an X on both him and his father. Although not indicated as being from the University of Michigan chapter, the photos came from the estate of a graduate in architecture from the U of M class of 1929, Jonathan Taylor. Included are two informal photos of him in his cap and gown, approx 5 x 3; one is faded but dated 1929 where he is by himself and the other with a fellow architecture graduate, Alexis Laptef (sic). Alexis Lapteff was later an artist at Pewabic Pottery. A group of four photos, sold as a lot only.
