Scrapbook containing almost 200 police photos of Chicago criminals and gangsters from the 1950s, include 29 booking cards showing mugshots/typed info on reverse; with photos of Sam Giancana, Tony Accardo, Meyer Lansky, and Joseph & Matthew Capone

Chicago 1950s 14.5 x 10.5", cloth backed boards, approx. 200 blank leaves, covers very worn, outer hinges splitting and fraying, extremities rounded and worn, hinges loose, pp toned and used, photos mounted with old browned cello tape with either typed paper identification captions (also mounted with browned, brittle tape) or have ink captions; many of the larger photos have typed identification on reverse; mostly original photos. There are 94 8x10" photos of criminals, 29 booking cards with mugshots on one side and typed in info on reverse; plus about 56 other photos; very few photos have been lost, some of the missing photos replaced with a pencil note: "Loaned to US Marshall 10/2/59"; in some places, someone has identified those who have died. Great police photos of Sam Giancana, Tony "Big Tuna" "Joey Batters" Accardo (who killed three people at a party held by Al Capone by hitting them with baseball bats), Meyer Lansky, Edward Vogel, Sam Ceario, Joseph Fusco, Matthew and Joseph Capone (brothers of Alphonse) plus a host of (mostly) men apprehended for crimes such as burglary, robbery, and even murder. Page 105 shows five men apprehended for burglary including Jos. Valente who is 29 years old, 5'10" and weighed 538 lbs, page 99's photo shows 9 men apprehended for burglary and robbery with a gun, p118's photo shows 7 women apprehended in a vice bust! Interesting and unique!
