HAPPY HOURS IN COONTOWN. Cake-Walk two-Step March.

F.A. Mills: Chicago 1899 14 x 10.5, pict wraps. Disbound, creasing, soiling, tears, slight musty smell, missing a small piece in margin. Pictured on front cover are several in blackface wearing top hats, in front of them is a woman in blackface wearing a yellow dress and bonnet. Chas. B. Brown was also the composer of "Sousa Swing," published in 1907, but he was not among the more well known composers of the ragtime era. The publisher Frederick Allen "Kerry" Mills, a Michigan native and the former head of the violin department of the University of Michigan, moved to NYC in 1895 and started up his own music publishing company, publishing both his and other people's compositions. Sold as is. Scarce.
