Postcard "MICHAEL BUTLER PRESENTS HAIR THE AMERICAN TRIBAL-LOVE ROCK MUSICAL.

National Productions: np 1968 Ruspoli-Rodriguez. Colour by Bishop. 7 x 5, the front has two heads, hair outlined in white with colors of red, yellow, green with white and blue lettering, on reverse is a small square (for the stamp), the words "Post Card Address" with a small paragraph about "Hair" in the upper left corner. Unused, light wear/rubbing, pencil date of "Aug. 1969" on reverse else very good. The musical Hair first opened at the Biltmore Theatre in NY on April 29, 1968; the West Coast production opened about six months later at the Aquarius Theatre in Hollywood with a cast that would include Ben Vereen, Ted Neely, Meat Loaf, Jennifer Warnes. From the back of the card "Hair the American tribal-love rock musical, now dazzling capacity crowdes at the Biltmore Theatre, New York City, and also here at the new Aquarius Theatre. . . " The play ran for an unprecedented two years in Hollywood. Scarce ephemera.
