AUTOMOBILE ROAD MAP OF SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN.

Silas Farmer & Co: Detroit 1905 Printed paper label, 8 x 5 and opens out to 24.5 x 29.5, black lettering on cream background, linen backed. Soiling and toning to label and linen backing, edge chipping and fraying, map has light toning and few tiny holes on folds else very good. The map shows the highways, electric railways and steam railroads only -- no structures, cemeteries, etc. As of the date of publication for this map, there were 68,000 miles of road and 2,700 automobiles in the entire state of Michigan and the majority of the roads were unpaved. Scarce. Rand McNally's first automobile road map was published in 1904.
