Old Reprint of a B&W Photograph "Juneau, Alaska, June 1886 Winter & Pond." Juneau, 1886, reprint from ?.

Oblong 7 x 11, Winter and Pond Studio, Juneau. Removed from an album with album paper still attached, light creasing and soiling, pinholes, light chipping else good. Shows a birds-eye view of Juneau with the city overlooking the water. Lloyd Valentine Winter arrived in Juneau in 1890 and went into business with fellow photog George M. Landerkin. The Landerkin and Winter studio lasted until 1893. Winter's good friend Percy Pond arrived the same year and later bought out Landerkin's interest in 1894, the business now being known as Winter & Pond. The year on the photos predates both Winters' and Pond's arrivals so perhaps the year was written down in error.
