Bookplate of Harry Houdini on the front pastedown of: Fowler. SALEM WITCHCRAFT.

William Veazie: Boston 1865 Text illustr, 9 x 7, brown pebbled cloth, 450 pp. Disbound and lacks spine, covers worn, sunned, soiled, corners bumped and worn, light soiling to bookplate (from rubbing against ffep, text block cracked, loose and detached pages/signatures, edge tears else contents clean and good. Limited to 250 copies. Harry Houdini was justifiably proud of his library which spilled out of the room to all over the house. He said about his library: ". . . one of the largest libraries in the world on psychic phenomena, spiritualism, magic, witchcraft, demonology, evil spirits, etc." After his death on October 31, 1926, his library was broken up according to the terms of his will; it was divided up between Mrs. Houdini, the Library of Congress and the American Society for Psychical Research with a few miscellaneous books going to friends and family. Later, Mrs. Houdini sold her books to collector Messmore Kendall for his private library. Here is a chance to own a book from Houdini's library. A BOOK THAT HE ACTUALLY TOUCHED!!
