Houghton Mifflin Co: Boston 1922 7.5 x 5, gilt lettered red cloth, 302 pp, covers rubbed and dull, extremities bumped with mild fraying, hinges loose, contents mildly toned, in yellowed, soiled, edge worn and edge chipped, spine darkened dust jacket, torn at folds. WITH THE HIGHLY ORNATE, ART DECO BOOKPLATE OF J. B. (Burgess) BOOK, JR., one of the famed Book Brothers, who built most of the old buildings (with Louis Kamper) along Washington Boulevard in Detroit, including the newly revitalized Book Cadillac Hotel. The bookplate shows a nude man and woman, a lyre and a bird. . . You figure it out. There is also a small book ticket from Dennen's Book Shop at 37 E. Grand River in Detroit.
