Articles on the deaths of Edsel Ford, Henry Ford and William C. Durant in the Automotive News, Volume 18 January-June 1943 and Volume 22 January-June 1947.

Automotive News: Detroit 1943 and 1947 Illustr, 15.5 x 11, pebbled black cloth, pagination varies. Ex-corporate library, light wear to covers, cello tape, a few tears, volume 22 has cracked inner hinges, toning else very good. Edsel Ford died May 26, 1943, some of the articles from May and June: "Rites are Held for Edsel Ford, Dead at 49," "Auto Leaders Praise Edsel Ford's Service," "Henry Ford Again President,; Craig, Bennett Move Up." An unrelated article on June 28: "War Output Back to Normal as Detroit Riots End." Almost exactly four years later Henry Ford died on April 7, 1947. A sampling of the articles: "Plants Pause in Tribute as Henry Ford is Buried," "Family's Control Seems Assured Despite Taxes," "Text of Henry Ford's Will." Another automotive giant, William C. Durant, died the same year as Henry Ford, on March 18th. Coverage not as extensive for the man who helped to found Chevrolet and General Motors, an article entitled "Durant: He Brought Billions to a Vision." Also a couple of brief articles on Tucker. Ads for Buick, Chrysler, Ford, Hudson, Nash, Packard, Willys Jeep. Sold as a pair only. Scarce.
