Framed Printed and Manuscript Indenture on vellum dated June 5, 1809, between John Penn, Richard Penn and the late John Penn (brother of Richard) to sell land in the borough of York (Pennsylvania) to John Beck and Jacob Beck, signed by John Penn and Richa

York 1809 Approximately 13.5 x 20 (not examined out of frame), paper seals, black painted wood frame with glass, area cut out on back of frame to show signatures of the Becks and an attorney. Vellum is creased, wrinkled, soiled and spotted else good, frame is chipped, scraped, scratched, paper backing is tearing along edges. John Penn of Stoke Poges, writer and his cousin Richard of Middlesex County, England, former lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania signed this document as did their lawyer John R. Coates of Philadelphia, the Becks, their attorney John Richmenn (sp?) and John Forsythe the justice of the peace. Nice early Pennsylvania/Penn history.
