Framed Original Souvenir Portrait Entry Tickets for the World's Columbian Exposition: Indian Chief, Christopher Columbus, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln with eight 2 cent stamps showing Columbus' landing.

Chicago 1893 Professionally framed, wood frame is 12.5 x 10.5 with glass, both frame and glass are in very good condition. Tickets are mounted to a yellow background which has a couple of light spots and a small abrasion in one corner, tickets and stamps have light wear/spotting/soiling else very good. The tickets are arranged with Columbus at the top, Washington and Lincoln below him and below them the Indian chief, there are two stamps in each corner, at the very top is a small piece of paper with a typed note "General Admission Tickets to Worlds Columbian Exposition," all items have been outlined in black. These four souvenir portrait entry tickets were issued a month before the exposition opened and the majority were given to i.e., exhibitors, concessionaires, press. These tickets were never sold, they were "free passes." The images on the tickets were chosen to represent the history of our country. When these "passes" were reissued all were marked with the letter "A." Later images added later were Thomas Edison and George Frederic Handel. Nice souvenirs attractively framed.
