THE HOLY BIBLE, RED LETTER EDITION, Signed by Henry Ford, Presented (Allegedly) to George Washington Carver.

Oxford University Press: NY nd 7.25 x 5, full limp leather, aeg, 1087 pp + Concordance + index + maps, covers heavily worn, extremities bumped and badly fraying, hinges cracked, contents (especially endpapers) badly waterstained, pp creased, a poor, loose copy of the Red Letter Edition of the King James Bible. SWAF. BOLDLY SIGNED BY HENRY FORD ON FRONT FLY. From a collection of materials belonging to George Washington Carver that we recently purchased (including letters, photos and personal items). George Washington Carver was a favorite of Henry Ford, visiting Dearborn in 1937, and actually staying in town doing research in 1942. Ford visited Carver in Tuskegee, too, as the two worked on a synthetic rubber and various other materials to be used in auto construction. Unfortunately, Ford did not write a presentation to Carver, and Carver did not write his name in the book, either.
