"REED'S FIVE YEAR DIARY" KEPT BY FAMED MICHIGAN SURVEYOR AND CUSTER EXPERT, FRED DUSTIN, c. 1929-1934.

np (Saginaw, MI?) 1929-1934 5.5 x 4, gilt ruled leather with clasp and lock on front cover, aeg, 365pp + pp, covers quite worn, leather chipped, outer hinges cracked, hinges very loose, leather mostly gone from clasp, contents a little toned and worn but still readable, identified on last page in description of Waltham watch engraved "Fred Dustin" in Dustin's handwriting. Mostly mundane diary entries, lots of fishing (with a Mr. Satchell) and clamming descriptions, entries about finding Indian relics and pieces of pottery, "Dorothy" has a baby, "Ann Arbor Academy of Sci. meeting," "Pioneer Lodge," Isle Royale, etc. Interesting.
