Michigan Bell Telephone Co: Detroit 1942 Illustr, 11 x 9, pict wraps, 558 pp, 2" thick. Front cover detached and missing pieces, approx half of rear cover is detached and also missing pieces, pagination includes white/yellow pages, entire section (except for one page) of the suburban directory is lacking (after p 558), soiling, toning, chipping, tears, pages brittle. Lots of nice local ads: Kinsel Drug Co, Detroit Baseball Club, Ira Wilson and Sons Dairy, Awrey Bakeries, Krun-chee Potato Chips. Of course, there are also ads for the dealerships: Ford, Buick, LaSalle, DeSoto, Hudson Hupmobile, Packard, Studebaker, Chevrolet, etc. Reverse of front cover has this notice "War Calls Must Go Through. Many long distance lines are crowded with calls. Help keep them clear for vital war calls by making only the most necessary calls, and by being brief." The rear cover has ad for war bonds with a photo of President Roosevelt. Scarce. Sold as is.
