Group of 12 Original b&w Photos of Commercial Trucks in Grand Rapids (De Good Transfer Company), Saginaw (Andersen Sand and Gravel) and vehicles used by the Kent and Washtenaw County road commissions, Michigan 1929-1931.

Various 1929-19 Twelve linen-backed photos with one dupe, all oblong, 11 are 8 x 11, with tabs with punchholes and one is 7.5 x 10, no tab but with punchholes on side margin. Three photos are by Kerwin, Ann Arbor, Mich., five are by The Camera Shop, Grand Rapids, Mich. And the remainder are unidentified. Soiling, light creasing, corner and extremity wear, curling, cello tape and tape removal marks, two photos are glued together on the backs and these are creased and worn, plus one photo has several tears, overall condition is good. The other vehicles shown are an Adams Road Grader from the Kent County Road Commission, 1931 license plate; dump trucks/ snowplow from the Washtenaw County Road Commission, 1929 and 1930 license plates, note “written” on the photos “Changeover made by Robey Tire Service, Inc.”; a White oil (?) truck parked in front of the Rim & Wheel Service Co., 1931 license plate, driver standing in front of cab door so company name unreadable as is most of the city of origin (ends in ville, Mich.); the same building from a different year (lacks the outdoor sign and taped-on sign in window) and no vehicle shown, glued to its reverse is a closeup of a truck tire; and unmarked sand and gravel (?) trailer parked in front of a Firestone dealership. In the Saginaw photo the truck hauling the sand and gravel trailer is an Acme, trucking company name on cab door is J. Litman (?). vehicle is parked in front of a Firestone dealer, shown are Gulf and Purol pumps and an Imperial Oil Truck. Photos are from the archive of a recently retired longtime Detroit wheel and rim company owner. Sold as a lot.
