SALMONIA, Or Days of Fly Fishing, in a Series of Conversations. . . By An Angler (Sir Humphrey Davy).

John Murray: London. 1832 Illustr, 7 x 4.25, full leather, 335 pp, covers very worn and crazed, hinges cracking, contents stained and soiled with a paper stuck to one of the full page illustrations. HENRY VAN DYKE'S COPY WITH A TYPED LETTER SIGNED TIPPED IN AT REAR FROM VAN DYKE THANKING FORMER OWNER (DETROITER HENRY RUSSEL) FOR THE BOOK (mentioning fishing!) There's also a signed presentation and an Autograph Letter Signed (on Michigan Central Railroad, Chairman letterhead) from Henry Ledyard presenting this book to Russel. Russel was a prominent Detroit attorney and angler. The book is in poor shape, but the association is nice.
