Covers extremely well worn, rubbed, clasps lacking, small holes in leather, lacking small pieces of the spine tips, corners bumped and worn, covers slightly warped, inner hinges cracked, loose pages (some becoming detached), detached pages, stained, toned, former owner's name and date, side margins closely cropped/worn away and affecting text, tears, creasing, one plate and p. 479/480 lacking lower corner area (affects text on page), pages 465/466 and 471/472 lacking about 1/3 of page, pages 505/506 lacking almost 1/2 of page. The ink inscription reads: "Elizabeth Emmert her book Aprile the 7 year 1827." She could possibly be Elisabeth Michlin Emmert of Berks Co. Pa who married Andrew Emmert (1757-1785) on January 4, 1783 in an evangelical Lutheran Church and whose daughter, born in 1784, was christened in a different evangelical Lutheran church. Sold as is.
