"BILLIE HOLIDAY," a pictorial booklet mainly showing images of Billie Holiday, at her Carnegie Hall appearance.

Program Publishing Company: NY (sticker on back is from Associated Booking Corp) nd B&W illustr, 10.75 x 8.5, pict stapled wraps, unpag (12pp). Covers have scratches, soiling, creasing, light staining, chipping, spine tips have small tears, staples rusty, faint pencil scribble on a few pages, light soiling and creasing, staining along inner margins near staples else good. Booklet starts with a brief bio by Dave North, photos of the crowds around and in Carnegie Hall, photos of her performing and at home and three scenes from her only major motion picture "New Orleans." Billie Holiday's concert at Carnegie Hall on March 27, 1948, was her first appearance after being released from the Alderson Correctional Facility (also known as Camp Cupcake") on March 16, 1948 for possession of narcotics. The concert was sold out; so great was the response to her talent that she gave six encores.
